Using Remo with different versions of Runrev/Livecode

Jim MacConnell
I use multiple versions of Rev/Livecode. Remo seems to only work with my most recent official release Livecode 4.5.3.
Is it possible to have Remo interact with other versions (especially newer developer prerelease versions)? If so, how? If not, could a preferences setting be added so that, if Remo finds other versions, it will let you select which to use?

Hello,

Using multiple versions of Rev/Livecode with Remo.

The instructions for using remo with Livecode have been the same. We need one copy of remo.app and one version of livecode.app in the same folder to get it to work. Essential just create an new folder for each version of Livecode. Then include an new copy of Remo along side in the same folder. (Last you can drag this combo to your dock. To launch Livecode with the correct version.)

Here an view of our Remo / Livecode multi-version setup. What works for us is making an new folder in the user/ applications folder for each version of Livecode. (like the Image below)

Then we do an custom install of the new Livecode version to that new folder. Last we make another copy of Remo.app and also place that in each new folder combo of Livecode and Remo (based on versions of Rev/Livecode).

Multiversions

Making an copy of Remo.app is as simple as Using the right click mouse button pop up menu.

"copy" to make an copy of remo.app and then in the new folder, do an right button click again in the folder from the pop up menu with "paste" last add the newLivecode version using custom install in Livecode installer to locate this new folder.

I hope this helps.

Jim, et al.,

Remo works with LiveCode up to version 5.5. We're working on making it compatible with that now.
